I'm making the switch from console gaming to pc gaming and have almost decided on the components for my first proper build, just a few things i'm unsure on and was hoping someone could look at my build and help me decide if i should swap certain parts for others or not. I know these questions must pop up all the time but I find myself searching through dozens of questions trying to make my mind up.

CPU - i5 4670k
MOBO - ASRock z87 EXTREME 3
RAM - Corsair 8gb (2 x 4gb)
Seagate Barracuda 2tb HDD
CiT 750w PSU

The GPU i was planning to get was the Sapphire r9 270x 4gb although graphics cards confuse me, there is a Sapphire r9 270x 2gb and it is almost the same price as the 4gb which is what confuses me the most as I'd assume the 4gb would obviously be better?

All this is to go inside an NZXT LEXA S case, if anyone has any other suggestions or changes i should make to this build i would really appreciate your input, thanks.

looks like a fun pc, my advice its to make it quiet, get noctua u12 for cpu cooler, and geforce 760 to boost that great i5 4670, msi gaming, gigabyte windforce or asus direct cu is great at silence with custom fan profiles.

Apologies, i was aiming to do it all for around £500-600 (not sure on the $ for that). Thanks for the help, but could someone explain why the Sapphire r9 270x 4gb is a bad choice compared to the GTX 760 2gb? (more for learning purposes as to me it looks better but I dont know much about them to be honest)

The prices i have found in the UK are.. (approx)

CPU £160
MOBO £80
RAM £60
HDD £60
PSU £50
I already have windows 7 and an optical drive (aswell as most accessories)

leaves me around £200 tops for a Video Card which is good for the one you recommended.

It's really bad due to the heat it makes , and one tip : NEVER crossfire .
And never go with a unknown brand of PSU's , it could burn your PC .
And don't you need a case ?
I'd reccomend you to get more money so we can fit something better in there

I'll let you decide but the Intel will last MUCH longer and will allow for GPU upgrades.

True but for that budget he could get something better with an amd proccessor
And I already saw that " Do you really need an expensive cpu for gaming " video a MILLION times ><

It will be better because of the money saved by getting an AMD processor and spending it on a good GPU or maybe SLI'ing , or just saving for upgrading later

We are talking GTX 770 here not 750 so the i5 would be worth it!
