hi guys i was trying to dissamble the chipset heatsink on my MSI Z77A G45 Gaming motherboard but when i tried to unscrew them they wont go out they just keep turning!ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED!!!! im kinda in a rush!!!

Solution
Try wedging something under the head of the screw - like a thin flat blade screwdriver, a knife blade or your fingernail - while unscrewing it.

Well your screw thread has turned flat so quite a difficult task. Try a little bit of heating if pure metal screws (last option).

First try another driver (magetic one might help). Well beating up i won't recommend.

Also if the screw driver fits perfect then the thread cut in the chipset have gone useless.

If in warranty go for repair.

If you are somehow able to remove the screws then you might need to cut new threads with larger screws.

Or finally buy a new one. Be sure to post your solution or choose one for help. Also ask if required.....

Awesome craziness awesomedude872!!! Well i would recommend to let some expert with screws try it or else you might disturb your mobo.
Also what happens when you drive the screw driver.
Does it gets stuck in the screw head?
Does it move freely in the screw head without turning the screw?
Or does the screw & the driver move together freely???
Ask more if you want. Or choose a solution.
Or post one that worked for you so that others with such green paper crazy case get help.

I dont know how you manage to do this but try turning it upside down, use a magnetic screw driver & try to drive it out at an angle instead of straight.

Better take help from someone with great hands on such fine screws & as your screw thread might have flattened you really need someone expert.

Again if in warranty get it repaired but be careful with the wafer or it might get screwed. Be sure to ask anything out until you find the solution.

Well upside down I meant screw down so that gravity might feebly help.

Also shaking might be useful since the thread are flattened so it might just fall off.

Finally turning at a lil bit of angle is somewhat similar to poking a fine pin & pulling it out with a jerk if you understand what i mean.

It resists the screw turning back to bottom as it's free. Anything else????
