Can i run a 300W GPU on 300W PSU without problems

Hey guys,i am gonna buy a GPU requring 300W power supply and my PSU gives 300W power supply so if i use it would i encounter any problem??Please help i need to hurry since a friend is selling it to me only for $20.NOTE:NO NEED TO ASK WHICH GPU IT IS IHAVE CHECKED ALL THE SPECS AND ITS COMPATIBLE.JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION ONLY.

As long as the PSU is one which comes bundled with most prebuilt computers, it should run with that graphics card. I have used it, and it uses very little power.
Another thing, the GPU is not 300W, it's 31W.
The recommended power supply of that card is 300W.


Since you're asking this question, you cannot know it's compatible.
The card only consumes 75W. But we have no details of the rest of the system, so we don't know how much power that needs, and no details of the PSU. No idea of how much of that "300 W" (maybe, maybe not) is spare. The "300 W" might be an illusion. Chances are good that it's a cheap no-name PSU that is already near the limit of what it can supply.

As you don't want to give further details of your system, and want just a yes/no answer, the only sensible answer is "no".

75 watt is the max one pci-e x16 slot can output it has a tdp of 31 watts

I don't, but NVIDIA do.
Check for the 210 on the Geforce website.
The card has a Thermal Design Power(TDP) of 31W.
Also, you can check reviews of the 210 on techpowerup.com.
They measure the consumed power separately. It's around the 30W mark at peak.
 

Different card, with a different amount of memory running at a different speed. Apart from that - perfect.
 

The NVidia site gives specifications of a 512 MB card with the memory clock speed of 500 MHz. I wonder if more memory at a faster clock speed means a higher power consumption?

it does mean higher power consumption but not in the same extend maybe a few watts but now double it

That's a really low end card, so it should be fine.

Just a heads up, if you are buying that card for gaming, it's not gonna work out...

If you just need a card as a replacement or something, then it's fine I guess.
 


The internal chip is the same. Only there are more black memory chips. On my own ASUS EN210 I have 8 chips of 128MB each for a total memory of 1GB. On more modern cards you'll find 8 chips of 256MB each for a total of 2GB(normally).
The GPU itself consumes most of the power coming from the power supply. Other components like the capacitors or resistors or the memory chips consume a watt or two at the most.
Power consumption is directly proportional to the frequency. So the ASUS 210 at 589 MHz should consume 18% more power than a stock 210 at 500MHz. That puts the ASUS 210 at 37W, which is still very less than 75W.
