I don't know if this problem is serious or not, but it is definitely annoying.
So I'm using a nvidia quadro fx 370m on a pretty old laptop. It was working fine even though I hadn't updated it for a long long time
One day I encountered a malware and my laptop started running slowly. At first I tried to use Advanced system care and use Driver booster. It was disastrous as I encountered bsod as soon as the program finished updating the driver.
I managed to use system restore and my laptop seemed to work normally again (yes i did notice the malware and remove it later).
But now whenever I play games, it just seems like my driver is not as good as it used to be.
I tried going to nvidia.com to scan and find my driver then update it again. I got the same problem. Bsod happened everytime i tried to start Windows normally without safe mode (few seconds after welcome screen and desktop appeared).
I tried everything possible including custom installation, registry fix, changing nvlddmkm.sys to .old. clean installation,... The problem was not solved and i always had to go back to safe mode and restore the system.

To summarize:
Driver very outdated and seems not working well.
AFTER update to later version, bsod 116 nvlddmkm.sys happened.
Tried everything suggested.
Problem only solved after system restore.

So can anyone help me update my driver without getting that annoying bsod? It's fine for me to leave it outdated but I really want it to work normally again.
I'm having dxdiag.txt and my 2 last dump files if you want (apparently i don't know how to upload them).

Solution
A lot of laptops, especially with switchable graphics require you to use the manufactures drivers.
Try downloading the driver from the manufacturers website. Acer ,Dell etc...
They are usually older drivers but will work.

Well i checked the website (mine is Dell), and it didn't show me any update for the driver after scanning my system.
Maybe for Dell it's up to date.
Anyway thanks, maybe i'll just leave it there.
