AMD Chipset drivers via Device Manager

Hey, I noticed that by running AMD chipset driver pack, not nearly all drivers are updated. For instance I have now updated: SMBus, PCI-E and ACHI controllers manually via device manager. So I am asking is there many more drivers I can update like this, and if someone knows please share. My motherboard is Crosshair V Formula-Z.

You are welcome to your opinion, of course, but I have to tell you that you are the first to criticise the advice I gave regarding driver updates, and I must give out that same advice a dozen times a week.

Please feel free to confirm my advice with other established members of the forum, or look it up on Google.
I'm certainly not going to be drawn in to an argument over it. My advice stands on it's good sense and merit.

Agreed, but that doesn't negate my advice. I said "Only update a driver to fix a specific problem you are experiencing". Obviously that includes features which don't...

Firstly, don't be updating any driver that's working okay because time will come when you'll regret doing so, new drivers can create problems as well as solve them. Updating them just to get the latest version is bad practice.
Only update a driver to fix a specific problem you are experiencing.

If you need to update a driver for the motherboard, go straight to the correct source which is the motherboard manufacturer's website unless it's a laptop or factory-built PC, in which case go to the laptop/PC manufacturer's website.

I generally don't recommend using the "Update Driver" feature in Device Manager as it's too automated.
I prefer to download a driver direct from the correct source and see what I'm getting before I decide to install it.

Hello,

I dont think that is a very smart ansrew, since the latest drivers are released cause they can optimize and fix different things. These drivers are also made by same guys that made the previos drivers. So there shouldnt be any risk in installing them. Latest drivers can increase performance since some drivers from 2006 wont maybe support all new features of the newer hardware installed.
