I am building a gaming computer and I need a wireless networking device because my router is in the other room. So far I have seen:

Extender with Ethernet port: Sienoc 300Mbps 802.11/b/g/n Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender, Repeater, Wireless Bridge, Access Point, Wall Plug design

Adapter: TP-LINK TL-WN822N Wireless N300 High Gain USB Adapter, 300Mbps, Dual 3dBi External Antennas

Both of these are on amazon and I'm not so sure which one will be better for gaming. Also if you have any other suggestions my price limit is $25 tops.

More about : wireless networking device adapter range extender

What's the router it's going to be connecting to?

EDIT: I would generally go for one of these.

Is it dual-band, or single? How many MIMO streams?

Can you post a link to the specs page, or its model number?

That really doesn't tell me much.

Just go for the one I linked above; it will work fine.

I would tend to avoid repeaters and USB2.0 ones, personally.

Is there a reason you can't use PCIe?

The only reason why I can't now is I'm going to use an older computer and its motherboard doesn't have a PCIe slot. I'm only using it until i buy the whole gaming computer.

OK. The USB2.0 one would be fine, then.

one more question would it be better to use a range extender, access point, or bridge in client mode? there are range extenders that can be used for multiple things and i can use them to plug into the ethernet port

That router looks like it's only a 150Mb/s one. If you don't intend to use it with anything else, 150Mb/s is fine.

Ok and would you prefer ethernet instead of usb?

If you can run an ethernet cable direct to the router, do that.

If you mean a WiFi/Ethernet bridge, I'd go with the USB for now.
