Hello,

For quiete some time now I've been messing arround with a 1TB Samsung HDD(HD103SJ). It's a HDD used in another PC but somehow Windows could not load anymore and I had a look into it.

When I plug the HDD into my PC; Via USB kit or direct sata it doesn't recognize it. Not in explorer nor in diskmanagement. I can clearly hear the HDD spinning and it does not make any weird sounds.

The weird thing is; When I unplug the HDD from sata or a usbkit the Windows Pops up with a message to format the HDD before it's able to use. Also in diskmanagement all the partitions and used/unused volumes show up, for just a second.

Any thoughts on this? How can I bring this HDD back to life?

I had one Seagate 1TB barracuda 7200.12, one day I dropped it to the ground, it acted like that beginning, so I try plug in and unplug and finally the PC recognized it, but I can only download less than half the data, during that time the PC froze up, when I rebooted the PC and the HDD never show up again.
So you can try to the same to see it shows up or not. Also try freeze the HDD method http://www.ehow.com/how_6940082_freeze-hard-drives.html ( it does not work for me) If not then nothing you can do.
