Hey there new to the tired but I can't find the answer any ware. I just switched graphics card a few days ago from a gtx 750 ti ftw edition to a sapphire radeon r9 290 and I went from 300fps in Minecraft to 30fps. Every other game like borderlands and dota 2 all get around 80-150 fps just like normal but Minecraft doesn't. Can anyone help? I'll give my specs to
Amd fx 8320 3.5ghz 8 core
16gb of ram (4x4gb)
3 HDDs 1tb a 500gb and a 3tb
Gigabyte ga-970a
Sapphire radeon r9 290

Uninstall the Nvidia drivers, run driver sweeper, then install the GPU drivers from AMD Nvidia's website.

Mess with the settings. G-Sync makes my GTX 660 about half as fast as normal, maybe your card is the same way.

maybe your framerate is locked at 30FPS or maybe you have V-sync on and you have a 30Hz monitor.

I'll uninstall the drivers tomorrow. That sounds a good idea. V-sync is definitely off and my monitor Is a 50" plasma that's why I noticed the frame issues. I'll post back when I I uninstall the drivers

I had same problem, it turned out that I have downloaded 32bit version on a 64 bit system and emulating caused FPS drop. I recommend you to check if you have 64bit version of MC (and Java).

try running in safe mode at boot and if the problem is gone its a virus.I recommend Malwarebytes to clean it up

Uninstall all NVIDIA drivers, GeForce Experience and all the drivers incorporated by NVIDIA and install latest drivers from AMD's website. Then Turn off V-SYNC and frame rate cap to MAX FPS.
