Hi,

I currently own an GTX 460 and have a 3 monitor setup. Only 2 of these monitors are currently used.

I'm looking for an new video card, for gaming and development. For gaming, only 1 screen is needed. I like to play on high settings of course :). For normal usage i like to use all the screens.

2 of my screens are now connected with DVI, and i want to connect my other screen (TV) with HDMI.

If possible, i would like to get an AMD card.

What kind of cards do you recommend? My budget is around 200/250 dollars.

Thanks!

Regards,

Michel

EDIT: Thanks for your responses. I forgot to say i only have 1 PCI slot. Also, the R9 280 does look good, but a little bit overpowered for my usage. I only do website development, so the GPU does not have to be very powerful for that. For gaming, i play a little bit of COD and Battlefield. The primary goal of this replacement is the 3 monitor setup.
Do you guys have any other recommendations in the 150 dollar range?

Thanks!

proof that the 7770 is actually rebadged as the 250x so the 260 is not worse, it is better. sit down son, do some more reading before inserting foot and chewing a lot.

Oh I do both, Play and look at the good graphics, but I had the money to buy a really good card. your also forgetting that the PC it will be going in is also for development, I would never use a 7770 even in cross fire for development.

260 = 7790 260x = just under 7850.

In this price range you can get a radeon hd 7870 or an r9 270x

or you can get geforce gtx 760

In my opinion get a gtx 760 or an r9 270x its better performance wise
if a little rise in budget buy 2 hd 7770's

it will give you a large performance boost maybe even reach the level of a radeon r9 290x or gtx 780ti or better.

Well normally what I recommend for graphic development is the Nvidia Titan as its render capability is out standing but to try to stay in your budget I will recommend this card, a GTX 760. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130949 With rebates it is $10 over your budget but has the 4GB of Vram that will help with development and the use of 4 screens that you are looking to do.

On the AMD side of things I will recommend this R9 280: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202099 With the instant rebate and the $10 mail in rebate it comes in under your budget but it is the fastest you will get at that price range unless there are better rebates in the future.

Personally I think not buying a pack of smokes or not going to a fast food restaurant one day is well worth putting that money in the budget for the GPU.

I think that haxior said 200-250 they both are atleast $20 more than $250 for what you said. 2 hd 7770's outperforms any of your r9 280 or gtx 760 and they both combined costs less than any of your opinions
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121642
so i think hd 7770 will be better option

the R9 280 has a price tag of 269.99. now it also has an instant 10 dollar discount that adds up to 259.99. then on top of that has a mail in rebate of 10 and makes the card 249.99. I can add and subtract in a way you cant.

2 7770's may be more powerful but not everything can run crossfire. on top of that add the cost of more electricity and micro stutter you end up with a much better card for the R9 280 than 2x 7770's.

time to get a refresher in math class i think. Yes the 760 is over by 10 bucks, cost of a pack of smokes or a lunch at Mc Donalds.

and why use a 7770? if you will go that low get a 260 or 260x

most latest games(i.e 2012-2014) can run on crossfire and electricity is no a big deal a few watts dosent matter. and micro stutter you ain't gonna play everything with settings maxed out because you cant not in the latest games stick with low-medium settings like consoles micro-stutter almost negligable you wont notice that and seriously do you want to play the game or just check out the graphics of the game?

and 260 or 260x? the 260 is not better than the 7770 while 260x is but 260x costs 20 bucks more(in crossfireX)
