My IPS and Main Power Both are working at the same tiem!

My IPS is giving backup from battery and at the same time my main power supply (government power supply) is on. So will it be any problem? I am afraid thinking if there is any accident happen? If any electrical engineer here please tell me. I am really worried about it.

IPS or UPS? if it is a UPS Uninteruptable Power Supply It can depend on what Kind it is. Some will swap to battery or condition the electrical flow to give a more balanced power flow. If for some reason your main power is to High of a voltage or to low the UPS will kick in and even out the voltage for you.

Others do not have this ability. They only kick on and off when the voltage from the main line gets to far out of spec. Basically only kick in if the power goes out.

First you need to know which type you have and second if the main power is having issues. IF there is no Issue with the main power then it is time to have the UPS serviced or replaced. It is not good for UPS to stay on battery all the time and this can damage it.
