Hello everyone. I recently built a computer two weeks back and have tried some games including FarCry3, Fifa14, and Metro Last light. From day one, while playing games the pc occasionally either gives a BSOD or just reboots.

The BSOD is always 'CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT' A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor.

Kindly help what might be the issue.

My PC Specs.

CPU- FX6300
MOBO-Gigabyte GA-970a-DS3P
GPU- Sapphire R9 270x Dual-x
PSU- Corsair CX600
RAM- 4x2 Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB, total 8GB
CPU Cooler-Hyper 212 Evo.
HDD- 1tb Seagate Barracuda.

Thanks in advance.

Huzaifa.

Check your idle and load temperature of our cpu and gpu.
Check if the cpu cooler is installed correctly
Try to clear CMOS (take out the round battery on the motherboard for a few mins before putting it back) and reload optimized settings in BIOS
Make sure your BIOS is updated
IF all else fails, RMA cpu.

Hello.. thanks for the quick reply.

The idle temps of my CPU was around 37C max. and the GPU was around 45C max.

While playing Far Cry 3, which give a continous loa of about 80-90% on the GPU, the temps were CPU- 47C max and GPU-68C max.

The motherboard's bios hasn't been updated by gigabyte. :(

I have tried optimised defaults in BIOS many times but no luck.

Update: I have stress tested the CPU and GPU with no errors or BSOD. But while stress testing the RAMs, BSOD within 10mins. Also I have tested around 3 different RAMs all giving BSOD? :?
