I have a video card (ATI Radeon HD 5670) that is capable of supporting three monitors for extended display. But I only have one VGA port on the computer. I think I need a second port to get a two-monitor extended display set up. If this is correct, how would I get the second port?

Typically the HD 5670 has 3 connectors on the back of the card (DVI, HDMI and Display Port). Using these ports are how you can achieve multi-monitor setups. I have seen derivatives of this card that replace the Display Port with a VGA connector. If that's the version of the card that you have then you will need to use one of the other ports on the back to connect more monitors. This card wouldn't happen to have come in a Dell computer? Dell has their own version of this card that doesn't have the usual connectivity options.

This is a computer made by my brother. He knows what he is doing, but he is not available to help me fix this issue. He installed the upgraded graphics card to make a landscaping program work without shadowing. The DVI connector I have to the first monitor is near the bottom of the PC tower. If there are no other connectors available, what does that mean? Could it be that the physically space in the tower did not allow for the HDMI and DisplayPort to extend outside the computer? I am starting to think that I will need to remove the cover to determine the actual location of the other available ports, if there are any.

Good idea to open the case thinking that the other ports failed to stick through!
