So... here´s my problem...
My steam name is "Mr. Pants" I just made it that for no reason at all "Not good at finding names" so I wanted a profile picture for my account.
I went to google to look at a random picture and typed in "mr.pants"
and I found the logo of "it´s mr.pants" but I did not know that the game existed so I went on cut a bit of the picture and set it as my profile pic.
I later realized that it was a game.
I really don´t wanna get in trouble for it. Is it illegal to use game logos for your own use?

Solution
Legally, you cannot use it. Use of said logo may infer to other people that you are in some way associated with that logo maker's company and any comments you make could then be attributed to said company. In the most extreme cases, the company could actually sue you for false representation and/or libel.

But, as Beezy states, there's probably a 99.9% chance it won't be a problem.

Now if you said hasfail or wintel or microsoft xxx it would be a problem. You are not referring to a specific company or logo in your username and are using a very common noun. It is not likely to make anyone mad since it is vague.
