After a couple of years, and my lap being burned with 212 degrees of not so good cooling I want to upgrade my laptop to something that can actually game. I want to get a laptop without breaking the bank. My budget is about $1000 with very slight headroom. I was thinking Acer Aspire V3-772G-9829, Razer Edge or Alienware x14. Can you give some suggestions?

One of these should be fine :)

Those are pretty good I might consider them but the Acer one I have in OP is double GPU VRAM but the Lenovo's have a slightly better cpu. I think I might do the lenovo's since they are cheaper but I am torn because of the graphics.

EDIT: I saw that I can do dual gpu with the lenovo but now I am concerned about keeping it cool

I just put the laptop into my cart and added the option for the second graphics card and it became more expensive than the acer

Well, it's going to be, but trust me the Lenovo's are fantastic. If you don't need the secondary gpu then don't get it.

Yeah, kick that to the curb xD. The Lenovo is supreme right now for it's price point, considering the Sagers only have (but I haven't researched it, I'll do that soon) the Intel Iris 7000 gpu. Plus, the Lenovo is marked down for a huge sale, so win win blowjobs!
