Is windows 8 good enough for gaming?

Hello there I'm hearing a lot of bad comments regarding windows 8 that is used for gaming, but I don't believe it tho. Haven't tried it yet but is wanting to do so for gaming. I heard it doesn't use up a lot of ram and stuff. So is windows 8 good for gaming?

Windows 8 is great for gaming. Alot of people (including me) just don't like the metro interface. However, if you like it or can get used to it then windows 8 will do just fine. It uses .5gb less ram then windows 7. Anyways if you have any other questions feel free to ask. Hopefully I helped ^.^

will there be any difference in the performance of the games? thanks for the answers guys. :D i'll reformat my pc this coming saturday. Win7 tends to go slower went being old.

The games might actually perform better since the software is newer and more optimized.
