Are factory OC more stable than self OC?

If I buy factory OC then I expect it to not shorten the life like a self OC would. Is it the same thing or did they improve the specs of factory OC?

Most factory OCs are fairly moderate (not an extreme OC) but one difference I could see is in warranty status. Depending on the policy of the manufactuter you'd have more trouble with their service department (if a problem ever arises) if you manually OC
