Hey guys, I started to try out minecraft and started getting some really weird glitches happening. Stuff will flash across the screen and ill be able to see underground :/ I am using optifine, if i turn optifine of it improves a little but not much. If anybody has a fix please post. Thanks!

Also my gpu is a gtx 760 and my cpu is an i5 3570k with 8 gb of ram so I should have no problems running this game.

In my previous post i said when I turn off Optifine, it is a little bit better. By turning off Optifine I mean playing the vanilla version.

Yes, I have fiddled around with optifine to get more performance out of minecraft, considering its not a very "demanding" game in terms of graphics, my computer should run it just fine. I have no idea why minecraft has started to do this. Do you think it can be my new gpu? ( gtx 760). Although this doesnt happen to any other games but minecraft. Every other game runs smoothly except for an occasional bug or 2, but nothing out of the ordinary.

You "started to try" and with a "mod", wow. You are braver than me.
The underground glitch happens (I believe) to everyone. When chunks don't load properly. They come and go. And with some of them if you return to the same spot and angular position, you can make it happen. I find it gets more pronounced as the map grows in complexity.
This doesn't solve anything but just sharing that I share your pain.

I know that it has happened to me before ( when I start a new world) but it goes away after the world is done "starting up". I dont know, I honestly dont remember minecraft being like this when I tried it out a few years ago.

Yup. That is Minecraft. Cannot be helped. I have a current game now where you can't walk into the unloaded chunk. Wait until you get too many cows (possibly any mob) in one area. The joy of 0 fps and cows inside blocks (I was wondering where all my ranch cows went). Cows tend to migrate on average in (I think) towards the South East. So that corner of my fenced ranch was packed with cows in nooks and crannies.

The joy of Minecraft has indeed declined over time.

I remember Minecraft being so relaxing and exciting. Not a huge mess of bugs and glitches. Like you said, the joy has been declined over time.

Turning off anti aliasing from Nvidea control panel didn't fix the seaming issue with white dots. Ugh, it's so annoying to play with.

Yea, I tried re-installing Minecraft but that didn't fix the problem either. :/ I know all games have there fair share of problems and glitches ( as not every game is perfect) but this ruins the game for me. I really like Minecraft but it looks like Ill have to stop playing...

The issue with white lines between blocks can be fixed by setting a good ratio of AF to mipmaps in the options.

Blocks like that never unload for me, so it's likely an optifine issue. Sometimes they take longer than they should to load in online games, but they never disappear.

Don't install mods and then complain when there are graphics bugs.

While I did install the mod I also uninstalled it and had the exact same issue. In fact I re installed the whole game and still had the issue. If you could elaborate more on the ratio of AF to mipmaps that would help a ton. Are they supposed to be as equal as possible or one is a higher setting then the other. Thanks for the help.

It's been a couple months since I played. It used to be, there'd be annoying white lines between the blocks. That went away when I put anisotropic at 8 and mipmaps at 4. However, I signed in again to check my settings, and now those white lines don't seem to appear no matter how I set AF or mipmaps. So maybe it was patched. Idk.
