Closed water loops are basically an air cooler only big difference is the water allows the heatsink (rad) to expel the hot air directly out the case, so if you have good airflow a typical decent heatsink and fan will give you not too dissimilar performance, but the h80i lights up which is cool.

The Corsair H80i will not leak unless if it's not taken care of like bending its tubes or something. But to answer your question, it will not. And yes, liquid coolers are known to leak but it rarely happens to brands like Corsair.

I do not think you will have any problems with leaking. The problem I had with the two H100i coolers I had was the pumps going out about two months after I got them. That is both of them had failed pumps that lasted just over two months. After that I went with XSPC custom kits on all of my PC's.

Personally, I would stick with air cooling unless you are going for complete silence or extreme overclocking. (Why risk your components with water when you could get the same performance more reliably with less money?)
