Hey guys, I recently had to upgrade to Windows 8.1 Pro from Windows 8 because of a recovery partition corruption. This had to happen after a registry corruption because of many corrupt files in the recovery files. Ever since, when I restart the PC it stops on the Gateway/ American Megatrends screen, shuts down unexpectedly while sleeping, sometimes acts as if sleeping but is really shut down (i.e. the power light is blinking but nothing is running and it will not wake) and sometimes boots to the BIOS settings screen. On top of that, my Ethernet connection cannot connect to the defult gateway, or tells me it has in invalid IP configuration which I believe may be my modum.
I have a stock Gateway DX4870 with an EVGA Nvidia GTX 660 GPU and a upgraded power supply for that.
If anyone could shed some light on these problems I thank you in advance, and I am already aware that this may be multiple issues and not just one but I am worried that my motherboard was affected in the registry corruption and the aftermath.
