Well the title says whats wrong. My pc doesnt startup and stays at a black screen with white text saying no boot device available. How can i fix this? Is it a hardware or software problem? Appreciate any help and suggestions.

Solution
like chal1311 said that seems to be a starting point if the drives are not plugged in there proper order on the ports it my be that. boot device [primary hd] should be in stata port 0 or 1 [depending on how there listed on your board]

A little more info would help as in what you were doing, fresh startup on working PC?, new build?, what happened/actions performed on last boot? etc. Any info can better consolidate possibilities of the error.

You might want to try and change the SATA port the HDD is plugged into. Enter the BIOS and check that the drive is present. Try formating the partition prior to installation. If it installs again and reboots, enter the BIOS and change the 1st boot device back to the HDD.
