280X indeed, that is a huge price gap that isn't worth it, both cards perform quite similar, though AMD cards are benefiting from their mantle engines in modern games, get the R9 280X. A 600W PSU with reasonable quality can run either of the cards

I had the same choice. Buy the Sapphire 280x for $50 less than a 770. It was a no brainer. The 280x is a machine. I max out all my games with 60fps. Buy the Sapphire 280x.

The 280x and 770 are almost the same.

600W will be enough to power the 280x or 770.

Not sure what you are talking about. I have owned a Sapphire 280x for 6 months and have had 0 artifacts and no crashes.
