Dell E2210 Screen problem

Hey guys really need your help here, my desktop screen (dell E2210) keeps like malfunctioning so it turns on all the time but when you plug a device into it (eg. laptop, desktop ect) its only works for a couple of minutes or sometimes an hour. Then it will say dell and the display will go black but the power light will still be on. If i push the power button nothing happens so i have to pull the power cord out and plug it back in to turn it back on. Sometimes when its doing this problem really badly the screen power light goes like a pinkish white and when i push it nothing happens so i still have to take the power cord out. I really dont want to buy a new display or send it back into dell.

sending it back may be your only option, have you tried another screen?

Yes i have tried another screen and it worked perfectly well but i really cant read the small letters because the only other screen i have is a small 15" one. I could try sending it back but i don't really have the time to muck around with dell's slow customer service
