Hey, I have a Toshiba Satellite C655 which runs Windows 7. The Wi-Fi Router hasn't been set up (I'm a noob on networking stuff), so I use the Laptop to create a Wi-Fi Hotspot (Using the LAN). I do this so that I can connect my Android Device to the internet. Apparently, the Connectivity dies after some time. The device shows that the Wi-Fi is available a but doesn't budge to connect. The same is with my second Android Device. Now, I believe the problem lies in the Laptop.

PS- For the hotspot, I used Virtual Router Plus and also tried making one via CMD.

Try this software, it is excellent: http://www.connectify.me/hotspot/

I used it all the time before I got a wireless router. It is super easy to set up and works great.
You can get a free version, which is all I used to use.

Give it a go and let me know how it works for ya.

edit:
An even better option would be to setup your wifi router, but the software is there to run a hotspot from your PC if you wish
