A budget of around $1000 for a gaming PC, is there anything else you recommend I improve or need to purchase. First time building a PC so I'm still unsure about a lot of things

Looks good, although I'd be tempted to go for an MSI GTX 760 as the branding matches the motherboard. Also, something optional would be to get a 1TB SSHD Hybrid drive as it should give you better boot times and shorter loading for some applications.
