Hi there! I wanna do SLI with my Asus GTX 760 for gaming. A friend told me only few games are supported by SLI but I think itll be worth it for incoming next gen games but Will it not affect other games that doesnt support SLI?

ill be upgrading my B85M-G to a Z87-A
and my 500w cougar PSU to a 750 corsair cx 750w in a Antec one hundred chassis.

btw im using an i5 4430@3.0Ghz with 8GB ram. Just wondering what will happen tho and how will it work? Does it need alot of coolers and stuff? thanks for the answer! and oh yeah.. and is it worth it? im not that rich and stuff but im willing to save up for it

Here's from Guru3d's review of GTX 760s in SLI:

"As always it is nice to see what kind of number a SLI combo manages to out in terms of framerates. Interesting is that two of these cards are priced roughly 40% lower then say a GeForce GTX Titan, yet you'll hover at roughly the same performance. Fact remains though that SLI is not for everybody. Even yours truly rather would have the fastest single GPU based graphics card over a SLI solution. But fair enough, over time NVIDIA has done a great job, micro-stuttering is a thing of the past and there are hardly any driver issues. And with triple A game titles, NVIDIA will have a driver for you at launch day ensuring your multi-GPU solution is supported...

it depends on the games you play, some games dont scale well, some games are cpu bound, it may require more case air flow, it will make more noise.

safe choice is single card, 770 to 780ti for you pc. adding sli card later will reduce cost of next card btw.

While I use SLI, and find it works pretty well, not all AAA titles work with SLI out of the box, and some never do. The Assassins Creed games come to mind. And while microstutter is rarely an issue, there are games with some issues. Not a lot, but it does happen.

It is generally a better bet to stick with the single GPU until you cannot get the performance you want from 1 GPU at a reasonable price. If 760 SLI had similar performance as a 780, I'd take the 780 every time, unless the 760's were less than 1/3 the price each.
