Ive tried to find my mobo specs using everything. HP says I have a

»HP Pavilion 500-023w Desktop PC
Serial Number: 4CE3190DM1
Product Number: H5P66AA

Says I have a Foxconn 2ADA V 1.00 Mobo

Actually this is it

Im planning on buying a new i7 Quad Core soon and I wanna make sure the Bios is updated to the latest version it can be. You would think HP would help you with that but maybe its more of a motherboard manufacturer thing. Anyway if anyone could point me in the right direction on where to update it I would appreciate it. I don't wanna get the wrong one and screwup my PC

If your buying a new i7 Quad Core soon the only compatible ones that work are:
Intel Core i7-2xxx (Sandy Bridge) Quad Core up to 95 W

These are year 2011 model CPUs. Newegg is still selling the Core i7-2600K.

HP isn't noted for selling desktop PCs intended for upgrading. They would rather sell you a new PC. You should consider getting yourself a bare PC case and a retail boxed motherboard and then build your own PC.

Looking at the Drivers available from HP:
Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)
There is a BIOS update for these operating systems but it isn't for new CPU support.
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
No BIOS...

Foxconn propably makes the motherboards for HP, but you need to use the BIOS provided by HP. There doesn't seem to be any BIOS updates released to your computer currently.

Have you checked the HP troubleshooting page for your model? http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documentSubCategory?tmp_rule=29601&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4158&product=5365441&sw_lang=.

Also check this page: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c03770775&lc=en&product=5365441&tmp_track_link=ot_search#N213 and open 'Processor upgrade information', it should show the list of compatible processors for the motherboard on your computer.

It seem it will support Intel Sandy Bridge based Core i7 processors "Intel Core i7-2xxx (Sandy Bridge) Quad Core up to 95 W".

You must have a Microsoft Windows 8 operating system.

Thanks for the help. Guess I should build a PC or find one of those deals on Ebay where they sell new ones with i7 quad cores in them.
Been lookin at them recently. They range from $600-$1000 depending on what you want. Id buy one from like Ibuypower but there over priced
and even there cheapest models dont really give you anything

I hope you haven't bought that for the hp's bios version. You might be able to do it, but I recommend you try it on the Foxconn "direct" version, as hp loads a custom ROM onto the AMI bios. It's extremely gay, and they won't help you or add support for anything, or help you at all for anything. That said, the board 2ada from Foxconn is Exactly the same as whats in your HP. Only the ROM is different.
