So I'm checking out different builds and stuff and I've decided to steer clear of prebuilt and just build it myself. I have a budget of about $1250 and have been looking at http://pcpartpicker.com and I just can't figure out which parts to put in since there's a lot to pick from. Any kind of help would be appreciated

You could also look at a build with an amd r9 290 and the possibility for crossfire,

Not a bad build Ryan, but for $1200 I would think an SSD could be thrown in there. I also wouldn't spend $80 on a bronze PSU anymore. I'd dial the cooler down to a 212evo, and probably need to drop the hdd down a size or two to get the money for an SSD. The $80 should get you a 500W gold PSU which is fine for that system.
