Hi Guys,

So, I have a old system, see below specs, that the PSU was burnt out. According to my parent, they smell something burned from the PSU and then the PC shuts down. So I bought a new PSU today, but my system still wont turn on. However I can see the power light on from the motherboard, but everything else shows no signs on power. So even though I can see the power light on the mother, could it still be damaged? Also, since this a old machine, kinda hard to get replacement, not sure if it worth to fix, so not sure I should just trash this......Please share your thought, thanks!

CPU: Intel Q6700
Motherboard: P5Q turbo
Ram: 4g DD2
Video : ATI HD 4200 or something
PSU: 500 Watts

Solution
To be sure what is wrong You should repleace all parts one by one. First thing is to repleace graphics card (with any other graphics c. that is 100% working). Then check Your ram modules, hdd... There is no other simple solution to find what is wrong. If You repleace everything and systen will not start then probably mainboard is burnt.
