hi
i have had facing a problem with toshiba hard disk of 500gb.. Still it's making clicking noise and i can't access my operating system. Moreover i can't delete or formate my partition. I think replacement is necessory.. Right.? If yes, please tell what types of physical damage cause destroy warranty.? Hopefully..

Hi there,
That clicking noise is known as the "Click of death" which is when the head of the arm (which reads data) is rapidly moving from side to side over the platter (disk) and hitting the end part of the disk that stops it from jumping out of the area.
I would immediately turn the drive off as this clicking noise is scratching the platter (disk) causing you too loose data!
I would take it too a recovery centre if data is on there you want to recover.
So re-formatting would be impossible since the drive is in that state.
And yes a replacement drive is the only option available.
If the drive is in warranty, you will be able to replace it for a new one.
