Windows 8 asking for drivers to Infrared Receiver... But I guess I don't have one

So, I use Windows 8 and it started asking to solve problems with an Infrared Receiver, to download its drivers and stuff like that. But I guess I don't have one, really. I don't even know what an IR does on a desktop computer actually. Could someone explain to me? Has windows gone nuts?

What do you have desktop or laptop or tablet? Model, spec of it. Provide us more spec to be able to help you.

Well, it's a desktop computer, but I built it myself. It has an AMD A8 3870k processor, Asrock motherboard, 4gb of ram... and certainly no IR receiver. Since I don't know how IRs work or where they are installed, I thought maybe they come with the mobo, or something.
