Hey Guys,

If your reading this than I want to thank you for for your time and help.
About a couple of months ago I finished my gaming rig and for a good time it worked splendidly. However, during by pc build I bought some spare parts for cheap and I obtained a Gtx 560 TI 1GB. The graphics card allowed me to play most games that I wanted on High setting so I was fine with it for the time being. During my pc build I was more focused on cosmetic looks and ended up getting an additional GTX 560 TI and SLI with the hopes that the performance would increase. Needlessly to say the reason why I did this was because I heard SLI increase performance and didn't really research much into it. The performance with both cards didn't make any differences.
Anyway, I'm now doing more graphic intensive work, mods, and gaming and need to understand every component of a graphics card before upgrading.

So can any explain to me in detail all the components and what to look for when shopping for a brand new card? Much help is greatly appreciated!

uh components you say: graphics card usually have an DVI(digital),VGA(analog) or HDMI output. DVI and HMDI are way better then VGA. One other component is the fan and the heatsink. The fan blows air in and the air goes through the heatsink. There is a graphics processor (similar to a CPU). Its the heart and core of the GPU. there are some way more complicated components that I'm not really into (they are harder to explain).

If you're looking for a new graphics card you should definitely look at benchmarks. They can make your choice way easier. All graphics cards are 'published' by different brands such as Asus,Msi,Sapphire. You should look at the price and compare graphics cards to each other. Look at AMD and Nvidia cards. Both...

Both companies have amazing cards. You also want to think of your processor. If you have a weak one you shouldn't buy a beast graphics card because the weak processor will bottleneck it and ruin your graphics card. Make sure you power supply is sufficient to run the graphics card you want. When I look for a new GPU I ALWAYS check the benchmarks. They are VERY VERY VERY helpful. If you run games and photoshop at high resolutions such as 4k go for the cards with a lot of Vram (Video memory). Last but no least find a good vendor - most local shops tend to sell hardware for overprice. You can usually find the same hardware online ( new egg) for a much better price. Hope I helped a bit.
