After installing a ASM1061 pci sata 3 card in a PCI Express slot, my Win 7 32 bit stops the boot and insists that F1 be pressed to continue. The the system boots. (I have a Samsung SSD boot disk contacted to the ASM1060. Any ideas?

Solution
The only other way I can think of circumventing this is to find an ide to sata connector but you will be losing the value of the ssd if the ide converter slows it down enough. I think you are good enough pressing f1. Until you can afford and want to upgrade this will have to do for now! I'm glad it works well otherwise. SSD's are quite nice!

What is your configuration? ie Samsung SSD has OS? or not but is used for games/videos/etc? Please clarify.

Perhaps your mobo needs to prompt to f1 to access os if it has that? If so, then maybe you can change this in bios? Go to bios settings and find boot order and see if you can select pci-e slot as priority 1 exit and save and maybe that will resolve your issue (I'm assuming os on ssd with this).

Sorry for the lack of info! The system is an older Dell Dimension E310.
The SSD does have the OS . It is the boot device. And it is selected as the first boot device in the bios
Except for requiring an F! during boot, the result of it and the ASM1061 is pretty impressive.
Maybe the Dell is just too old !

SSDs are nice, indeed!
Even tho the benchmarks show a marked increase on performance after installing the ASM1061, in real-life, I don't see much, if any, difference between running the SSD from the on-board SATA connector or from the ASM1061.
So, I will remove the card and save it for some future application.FYI: I installed a much more expensive PCI card (that I mounted two Samsung 840 Pro SSD's on, in my 2012 MaC PRO. The Pro really does fly now !!
Thanks for the assist !
