Hello everyone, I'm planning to upgrade my computer with a new better GPU.
The GTX 770. My current specs are:

Processor
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3550 CPU @ 3.30GHz
Graphics Card
MSI R7850 Twin Frozr
Power Supply
MS-Tech MS-N750-VAL 750w

But I need a 6 pin connector power supply for the 770, and idk if my current power supply has that. Also the main question here is would it be smart if I upgrade to a slightly better card or just keep it the way it is?

Thanks in advance,
Septura

Yeah, you psu should be enough. Even if your psu can deliver 80% of the power it claims, your power consumption shouldn't get nowhere near the amount. For highend cards you really want, good quality psus. If you don't want to test your luck, I recommend:

Yes, it would be worth to upgrade your GPU to 770, but keep in mind you need good quality PSU. Any 550watts or more 80+ PSU should be fine. And never cheap out on PSU!

To be honest, I never heard of that brand. Is it 80+? If not, you put your other components in risk. Some crap PSUs still can run high-end GPUs, but with time they still gonna destroy it slowly. It's like having a non stable electricity in the house. If your PSU doesn't have 80+ certificate it's suspicious & I wouldn't risk the PC to have it connected to it.

I dont know how to check/how to tell. Can you recommend me a good PSU (not too pricey) but that could handle that card without any risk? Ill buy it right away.
