Do you have a limited budget? If not, just get an Intel Core i7 4770k (Needs LGA1150)

You can also keep that motherboard and get a decent AMD FX CPU such as AMD FX 8350 (You can't get a 9590 since it needs a motherboard that supports minimum 220W CPU).

If you have a limited budget, just get an AMD FX 6300 and keep that motherboard.

fx 6300 or 8320 depending on your needs. If you video edit or use a lot of cpu intensive things then the 8000 one, if not then get the 6300

Then you wont be able to get an Intel Core i7 4770k.

Then the AMD FX-8350 is perfect for you, plus you don't have to change your motherboard, and its a great CPU especially for your budget.

Why do you need new RAM? The 8GB 1600MHz seems fine to me.

Is your budget £250 including the new PSU? In any case, if I were you I'd go intel if it fits in your budget.

If the PSU needs to fit in that £250 budget this would be my choice:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4570 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor (£139.98 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: ASRock H87 Pro4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£58.22 @ Amazon UK)
Power Supply: XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (£44.14 @ CCL Computers)
Total: £242.34
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

It will perform better than that FX 8350 previously suggested.

+1, the i5-4570 is great. Get an i5-4670k if you plan on overclocking in the future OP.
