The other day I was streaming as I normally do and my CPU went from 50-60 C to 90-100 for no reason at all. I have had this build since January and haven't had any problems. The CPU has never exceeded 70 C at any given time, not even when I ran it several times in a CPU benchmark back in February. All of the power cables are connected and the Corsair H80i is is running fine. My friend says I have cooked the thermal paste but I was skeptical of that since I would think the temps would gradually grow, rather than instantly if the paste were to cook. Anyone else had this occur or know what has happened?

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Well I can only give vague suggestions to the best of my ability.
#Is the H80i pump working?
#Tried reapplying thermal paste?
#Is it overclocked in any way?

1: The pump is working
2: I have not
3: Yes, but it has been overclocked since Day 1 so I don't understand how it would start messing up now.

Okay, will try to. It'll be a bit before I can though as I need to order new thermal paste.
