Soon I'll be looking to start a new build, but I'm unsure about the cooling and case to use. I didn't see a cooling/case forums this isn't the proper one please let me know which one to use for this.

This is the it for the most part. I may change the CPU to the new Devil's Canyon (if it releases soon enough) and the motherboard to a z97 (for the new CPU or just to get for future upgrades).

I was planning on getting a Corsair Hyrdo Series cooler, but am unsure if I should/want to get the 120mm or 240mm radiator setup. Also to work with the cooler, I can't decide on a good case for good air flow, space, and sturdiness, that also looks good and has easy access to changing fans if they break.

I've been mostly looking at Corsair cases lately, but there are so many so it's hard to pick out the best. I'd prefer a full tower, but will surely consider a mid tower if it has sufficient space/width along with the above standards. I'd also like to keep it under $200.

I'd just like opinions/advice on good cases (and their fan setup) and optimal placement for 120/240mm radiators. i.e., single radiator to rear exhaust, 240 to top, etc. Also, best cooler configuration for fan direction, i.e., single vs push pull.

It can get pretty warm and humid here so optimal air flow > looks.

Thanks in advance for the help,

Thanks for the suggestion. Haven't read into NZXT too much, but I'll take a look.

your rig is awesome!!!
for the case i suggest you
corsair 760t

Thanks. I actually considered the 760T. After looking through dozens of cases, I seem to keep coming back to that one to compare.

On a side note, can anyone suggest fans for a radiator? I know they come with 2 (or one if it's a single), but should I use them or find 'better' ones (more so if I were to do a push-pull config). I looked into Corsair's (to go with their cooling system), but I'm not sure which ones would work with it/work the best.

Thanks

I have. Specifically the NH-U14S and the NH-D14. I've also look at the Cooler Master Hyper Series. Would you recommend one over the other?

My only concern about air fans is space. I know they take a lot of space, sometimes overreaching dimm slots.

I know closed-loop and air fans are relatively close in performance, but can differ in price, however I read somewhere (but have forgotten where) and I don't know how accurate it is, but the liquid cooling is better in hotter areas (like outside temp) because air fans just move already warm air around even more. It kind make sense, but like I said, I don't know how true it is when a system is actually running.

Thanks

So that's just the 120mm version. A lot of glowing reviews. I'll have to highly consider that now. Do you think adding another fan to the other side would still give clearance to add more ram? And lastly, I've noticed some air coolers have a header for fan control, do you know if this has that or just automatic?

Thanks
