Hello Everyone! I am in the market of getting a new PC and I am building it from scratch. I will be doing editing in Camtasia, Photoshop, After Affects and I love gaming and I will do that even more than edit. I was looking for graphics cards and my budget is $300. So far the best one I have found is the Sapphire Radeon r9 280x Dual X. I am running this with and Fx-8350. So, do CUDA cores make a difference or have I made a good choice on my card? :)

I prefer the GTX 770 Windforce OC:

See how these two cards compare from one of the more reputable and consistent review sites:

Here' s a direct head to head comparo from gpu boss as well:

I like the guru3d gaming test comparisons over gpu boss but it is all pertinent to your decision. The 770 is $30 more ($339 vs $309) but I'm comparing apples to apples (same exact windforce oc vs the other) and you don't have to get these exact cards but...

You get the best value and spending a little more now you'll end up with the better hardware which you won't regret. You will make $40 up some where but you are stuck with lesser hardware if you don't go for it. Regardless the choice is yours. Have fun! Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Isnt the GTX 770 2gb though? Is the 3gb better than 2. I am still trying to learn everything. Thanks for the awesome reply!

If you are going to be using more than one monitor you will want more gpu memory yes. There is a 4GB version on the link I sent you if you look carefully. It costs more but can be well worth it. Also, if you are using multi-monitor you will probably want to run in sli. If you are going in this direction you will need 2 gpus and a better power supply (800-1200W). It will get really expensive. You can run 3 monitors without sli but do not expect to game on them well if at all. For one monitor you can get away with 2GB very easily.
