Everything ok for GTX 770 upgrade on OEM build?

Hi,
I currently have an OEM Hp h8-1211 that basically includes a FX-6100, a 300W PSU and an Angelica motherboard. I upgraded last year as I was discovering the extraordinary world of gaming hardware to a GTX-650 (e 2B version by Asus). But now I want more horsepower (again).
I still hesitates between GTX 770 and R9 280x (not the purpose of the topic but advice always appreciated).
I know I also need a bigger PSU, I suppose a 600W bronze one would be enough.
I'm aware my CPU will bottleneck in some games, I plan on upgrading later for an i5, with an adequate mobo.
Such an enthusiast card doesnt fit in my case, so I will replace it with an NZXT source 210 or something in the kind.

My main worries are;
-Does the PCI 2.0 slot will slow the GPU?
-Does the rest of the setup will work properly with a new PSU and Case?
-Does everything is compatible together? or whatever issue could happen...?

I play in 1080p, will embrace 4K later (when as cheap as 250$) with that GPU and not planning to upgrade again for at least 3-4 years. I want to be able to play actual games at least at high settings (my most demanding one currently being AC4 black flag) and play future games as well, thinking of Watch Dogs. I live in Canada if it matters.

Thank you if you've made it so far and please reply!

Solution
1. No
2. Yes. You will need a ~550w PSU with a single 12v rail. I also lovelovelove the source 210.
3. Seems good.

I like the 280x more as I do compute, but the 770 will push maybe 2-5fps more at lower power for ~$20 more.

1) No. PCI-E 2.0 vs PCI-E 3.0 have no correlation between Graphics card Performace. x1, x4 and x16 however, do.
2) Yes. I recommend Corsair PSU's and I love the Source 210 as well. Just know that If the HP Case has holes drilled out of the physical metal that you do not have a mobo backplate. This happened to me with my Dell Upgrade Build.
3) Everything should be compatible together. However, I have noticed that new cards require something changed in the bios ROM. I think it has to do with converting the bios to a new type of package, but I do not believe that the GTX 770 or Radeon R9 280X have any of these issues.

If you are planning on 4K, I suggest you pick up a 750w+ corsair psu and 2 Radeon R9 280X and a new AM3+ ATX mobo such as this setup

2x http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121803
1x http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139040

and maybe a good cpu cooler such as this

and maybe some extra fans

This will ensure proper heat dissipation and compatibility. Also, with a new motherboard you can also completely oc that cpu!

Happy upgrading!

blue_smoke: I thought about a dual 280x but I'm afraid its starting to be too expensive for me, I don't want to empty my savings only for that and as I said I'm planning 4K later but thanks for the suggestions and links. And I expect a single R9 280x to play at low settings in 4K and it doesn't bother me, at that definition. Instead of upgrading the AM3 mobo, I'll try out Intel, it's been a long time I've been with AMD and need better single core performance for my old bad-optimized games (Cities XL 2012 in mind).

Could you tell me more about mobo backplate issue, is it gonna be problematic?
Happy to see you both approve the NZXT case.

Also, do you think bottleneck of a stock FX-6100 will be outrageous or minimal?

Thanks for you both for those fast replies. Very appreciated
