It looks like the low-profile Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 is gone. I have been looking for good parts to build an HTPC that I can also game on. I'd like to run games like Goat Sim and Garry's Mod. Do you think an A8 or A10 would do for those games or would it be better to get an Intel/Athlon with dedicated graphics?

that would be the extreme route. but honestly an a10-5800k/6800k would suffice and offers very good 720p performance comparable to a ps3/360. if your not trying to run the latest hardcore games at high settings, they would be your best bang for you buck.

on a budget... something like this as a full featured bluray/smart tv/media center replacement with ps3/360 "like" gaming capability would do well for htpc and xbmc and computer tasks and the like.

Sorry I'm having to bring this topic back.

I'm interested in the A10 mainly because I am afraid of noise from a dedi card. However the power consumption on an i3 with dedi is better than A10 according to this:

Quote:
They all shared the following common elements:
Hard drive: Kingston HyperX SH103S3 240GB SSD
Discrete graphics: XFX Radeon HD 7950 Double Dissipation 3GB with Catalyst 13.5 beta 2 drivers
OS: Windows 8 Pro
Power supply: Corsair AX650

Not the card I would get, but still proves a point.

Dedicated would be great, just the cost and the noise. This is where I am now stuck. I haven't yet found 3D performance on the A10 or the i3. Also not sure whether to sacrifice performance and power for A10 or money and noise for i3.
