I'm reinstalling Windows 8 - Will MB drivers work after 8.1 upgrade?

So I'm reinstalling Windows 8 and I have a Windows 8 product key, which means I need to install 8 and then upgrade to 8.1.

My question is - if I install my motherboard drivers and then upgrade to Windows 8.1, will all the drivers still function correctly, given that there are separate download options for the two operating systems on the motherboard's website?

My motherboard is an Asus Z87-Pro.

I've already reinstalled Windows several times in the past few months because of a range of problems, the most recent of which is a long delay when resetting the system coupled with multiple errors in the Events Viewer.

I'm wondering if my installing Windows 8 motherboard drivers and then upgrading to 8.1 may have something to do with the problems I'm having.

Thanks for your time!

Almost certainly, yes.
I've not had a problem across multiple machines.
