Your motherboard is fine , but the power supply isn't Haswell compatible.

ok, i was worried i would have to spend an extra $50 or something on a better one. that's kinda weird though, about the PSU. i had the compatibility filter on.

That filter isn't very good.

good to know. the only thing i really knew the filter had issues with was cases and their dimensions. also, i was thinking about switching out the 4770k for a 4790k when it comes out. is it worth it?

It's just a generalized filter , it will mess up from time to time.
