I just built my computer and my friend wants to be able to play with me, his laptop isn't very good and it keeps heating up very fast and shutting itself down. I have two questions. One, why is his laptop heating quickly even when his fan is working. And two, will all these parts work together http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3DZXc and will they be good for gaming. I know its not a good computer for gaming but its just so he can play games like minecraft with at least 40fps and if he can play TF2, he cant spend lots of money. Much appreciated for the feedback :)

Assuming you will bring over your old hard drive, this will easily get you what you're looking for. Not the fastest CPU, but will be better than the laptop one, and the 260x is more than capable of handling TF2 :)
