I'm planning a home / office build based on a i3-4130 CPU. I'm really interested in using a SSD to speed things up. I'm looking at either a B85 or Z87 chipset. My questions are:

1) As SSD drives become less pricey is it worth while to use 2 drives in order to utilize Smart Response Technology. I probably can get by with 300 to 400 GB or so of storage.

2) Which chipsets support SRT? Will the B85?

3) If anyone is using SRT please let me know how you like it.

Best solution

a c 107 V Motherboard

Of the lga 1150 socket chipsets, q87, h87 and z87 support srt. Although from your uses, it doesn't seem like it would matter much. You really aren't doing anything that would even take awhile to load. 120gb ssds are cheap enough to not need ssd caching.
