Is this a good build for BF4 Ultra for around $1400?

So what parts should I use for a better frame rate that you recommend?

A 280X would do the job! You can get 1 used for around 200$ right now.

Coolmax makes terrible power supplies, don't get one. Period.

This is a pretty beastly system and it will run BF4 at 60 FPS/w Vsync and this card will last you for about 3-4 yrs if you don't mind to turn down the graphics to high at the new games.
Happy gaming.
Cheers

Okay, no coolmax. The graphics card though, for 10 extra dollars I could get a GTX 770?

I would rather buy one new, and for 10 extra dollars I could get the GTX 770 which is better right?

The gtx 770 and the r9 280x perform about the same with the gtx 770 coming out a little ahead. They are pretty much tied though since game developers design games based on either AMD or Nvidia. For instance, the r9 280x would run BF4 better than the 770 but the 770 will run batman arkham city (or the new on that hasn't been released yet) better. I have had both AMD and Nvidia cards, both are great but I find the Nvidia driver software a bit easier to work with.

If like Nvidia better or trust their reputation then yes get the gtx 770, otherwise either one would be great.

Overall the gtx 770 is better than the amd r9 280 and 280x. but the gtx 770 has only 2gb of vram which won't last you long. I recommend staying with the r9 280x and oc it a bit, then it's almost on par with the gtx 780.

Not sure where you heard that. I had a AMD card before and have a Nvidia card now, have had absolutely no problems with either one. But, since you seem to be leaning towards the gtx 770, then just get that one.
