Yes, another question about grounding.

Hey guys, I have a question about properly grounding myself. I have spent the last hour online reading about how to properly ground myself, and I have found MANY different answers and opinions. So, I have a couple of questions. For one, what should I connect my Anti-static wrist band to? Should I connect it to a screw in the case, or does any old piece of metal work? Is it a good idea to work on a wooden table? Will a car mat work as a grounding mat? Any advice is appreciated, you guys have been great!

I have built two and a half PC's, my first was with brand new parts, on a linoleum floor with no socks on, while wearing rubber gloves. I have had no issues, and the rubber gloves were overkill. since then I have assembled one whole computer out of used free parts, and put a new hard drive in a second on carpet with a towel underneath the parts. The only issue with those said computers were already dying hard drives.

So if the PSU is plugged in, do I even have to worry about doing anything else. My case is black inside which i'm assuming means painted, can I still use it to hook up the wrist band to?
