Another gpu answer please

So I've been doing a lot of research and haven't really got an answer. I like to play games such as dayz, kerbal space program, and battlefield 4 with a $1750 budget I decided to do an intel build with a gtx 780 to start but then I started looking at the r9 290 and possibly do crossfire and go back to my trusty fx6300 CPU but I have always had amd and really wanted to try new stuff. My question is should I do two r9 290's, a 780 and do the 4670k, or go with a cheap case and no SSD and do intel with 780ti. I guess this might be more of a "help me build" situation I would like to know what the community thinks. THANKS in advance
