I will upgrade my PC for gaming and also for my studies 3D softwares like Autodesk Maya and Adobe Editing Softwares. I'm in a tight budget so I cannot do a Z87 board with i7. I may or may not overclock and will not SLI/crossfire. Xeon processor is not available in my country. H87 price is closed to z87, so I looked for B85 and I only look for Asus motherboards because my current motherboard is Asus so I trust Asus.

Which is better for my build, i5-4670k with Z87 board or i7-4771 with b85 board?

Does B85 have an impact in performance than z87?

Do I need the Intel Smart Response and is it worth to have for ssd caching?

SSD caching is nice if the work you do relies on a lot of large files being...
The B85 is a more business oriented chipset. The Z87 chipset is a enthusiast chipset.

SSD caching is, well it is nice but only good if you can only afford a cheap/small SSD and a 1-2TB HDD. My opinion is if you can get a 120GB or larger SSD, it is pointless.

Personally I would go for the i5 4670K and the Z87 Gryphon but since you plan to do 3D stuff you really need a i7 and best would be if you could get a LGA 2011 board (X79 chipset) and i7.

Yes, I will only buy a 120GB ssd but If I put it in B85, it will be my OS and boot drive but no ssd cahing. The X79 is pricey here. Is it worth to have that ssd caching? I will use a WD Caviar Black 1TB HDD

SSD caching is nice if the work you do relies on a lot of large files being opened and closed. Personally I don't think it is. I have a 180GB SSD and 2 2TB in a RAID0 so I am happy. But I mostly game and watch movies on my PC.

If the X79 is too expensive then the i7 and B85 board will be a better choice as it will give better performance for the applications you are going to use.
