I use a mid - 2012 Mac Pro; run Mavericks OS X 10.9.2. I have a "LaCie d2 DVD+RW/LightScribe external hard drive/burner. Has anyone used the above mentioned LaCie HD to successfully burn DVDs using Mavericks OS X 10.9.2?

Thank you for your prompt reply to my question, JustSomeJoe!! I'm afraid I'm out of luck if I want to use my LaCie Burner on my Mavericks OS X 10.9.2 run Mac. I contacted LaCie Support and they told me that "...However, the drive wasn't tested with OSX 10.9 or above so it's recommended to be used under a supported operating system version."

There definitely seems to be a Mavericks/Lightscribe incompatibility. I'm using a Matsishita external drive with my early 2011 MacBook Pro, and no luck either. Whilst the system recognises the drive, the drive will not recognise any blank Lightscribe disc and just keeps spitting it out. Everything works fine on the same machine under Windows XP if I go over to the Bootcamp side side of things. Oh well. We can only hope that the Lightscribe powers-that-be see fit to address this.
