Somebody bought my PC the other day and I need to wipe the HDD without deleting the OS. problem is I don't have the windows 7 install disc anymore and they are picking it up soon. Is there a program to help me do this or is it simpiler than that? Thanks

Solution
uninstall all programs you don't want to give to them.
create a new user with admin privileges.
switch users and use a file shredder on the stuff in the old users USER folder (leave the user folder intact. I'm talking about my pics, my vids, my docs...) be sure to have backed up your important stuff.
delete the old user account. (go to User Accounts, manage another account...)
clean the registry. (I like ccleaner for this.)
Defrag the drive if you have time.

Write down the product key for your PC and perform a clean installation of Windows, then activate it with your existing product key. You can make a Windows install disc using that .iso that was linked and a blank CD.

You can find your computer's product key by right clicking My Computer and selecting Properties.

Yeah, I got the product key but the windows ISO was taking way to long even with an Ethernet cable. I then tried to just wipe the HDD but my BIOS wasnt detecting my optical drive. I understand PC hardware but I have no idea when it comes to this sort of stuff really

I burned dariks boot and nuke on a blank CD, restarted the computer into the BIOS and spent like an hour trying to figure out why it wasn't recognizing my CD drive to boot first.
