Hello,
So i just built a new system, all new parts except the gpu and recently, well only when i run windows assessment to determine what score i can get, i hear this whining, high pitched sound coming from my pc case. I opened the side to try and determine where it was coming from but i couldn't. Its towards the psu so im inclined to believe its that. I will look into this more later on.
Doing some research people are suggesting it may be 'coil whine' although i dont know too much about the internals.
-Also people suggest that noise is due to over stressing the psu however i don't think i am.
my specs:
i5 4440
sapphire r9 290
4g x 2 g skill x rip jaws 1866
seasonic g series 650w
seagate barracuda 2tb
antec p280 case with ONE stock rear exhaust fan
TWO corsair sp120 Quiets at the front intake.
asrock z87m extreme 4 mobo
pc part picker told me i use 423w so i assumed i go towards 500 at fill load-- but i still have 150w headroom.
So can sometime tell me whats going on? Should i leave it be (as it only appears when i run the windows assessment) or if it turns out its my psu, try to rma.
thanks for the long read
